The West End musical stage adaptation of Gurinder Chadha’s Bend It Like Beckham is setting new records in London.
The stage version of Gurinder’s 2002 cult film has now bagged 5 nominations in the prestigious Olivier Awards which are the British stage equivalent of the Oscars.
Bend It Like Beckham has bagged the Olivier nominations in the following categories:
Katrina Lindsay – Best Costume Design
Music by Howard Goodall, Lyrics by Charles Hart and Orchestrations by Howard Goodalland Kuljit Bhamra – Outstanding Achievement in Music
Preeya Kalidas - Best Actress in a Supporting Role in a Musical
Natalie Dew - Best Actress in a Musical
Bend It Like Beckham – Best New Musical
