Hollywood actor Mark Wahlberg revealed that a Filipino book structured his daily prayers. In an interview with Relevant Magazine, the devout Catholic discussed his every day prayer routine, which is arranged according to “365 Days with the Lord,” a Bible diary published by a Filipino apostolate of the priests and brothers of the Society of St. Paul.
According to the actor’s wife, model Rhea Durham, Mark loves the book so much that he asked her to buy him another copy for Christmas. Since then, she has given it as a gift to her husband every Christmas. “She knows that’s the one thing that I have to have before the end of the year to be able to start fresh on the first day of the year and not miss a day,” the actor said.
Mark rises at 2:30 am every day and prays for 15 minutes every 2:45 am. Wahlberg has been nominated at the Oscars for Best Supporting Actor for The Departed, and as Best Actor at the Golden Globes for The Fighter.
