‘Lee’st expected

She’d attended a screening of the movie and says she found it “disheartening” to watch her father’s character being mocked.

Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is already being congratulated for its writing and depiction of the late ’60s and ’70s, but there’s one person not too happy about it. According to Eonline, Shannon Lee, daughter of the late legend Bruce Lee, is dismayed about the portrayal of her late father in the movie.

She’d attended a screening of the movie and says she found it “disheartening” to watch her father’s character being mocked. Though she says she understood Tarantino was trying to portray “a period of time that clearly had a lot of racism and exclusion,” she’s upset by the film’s complete disregard for Lee’s accomplishments and life.

To her the movie seemed to make Lee “come across as an arrogant a*****e who was full of hot air.” “[Bruce Lee was] someone who had to fight triple as hard as any of those people did to accomplish what was naturally given to so many others.” Tarantino has yet to comment on Shannon’s statements.
