Harom Hara Opens to Lukewarm Response in AP/TG?

Hyderabad: Despite big promotions, the much-hyped action film 'Harom Hara' featuring Sudheer Babu failed to draw decent enough openings. "It just managed to collect a meager Rs 80 lakhs plus net collection on day one and it has a long way to go," says a distributor, who adds, "Their overhype seems to have worked against the movie, and openings have been dismal,' he adds.

Harom Hara, the Telugu film written and directed by Gnanasagar Dwaraka, gets its title from the ‘harom hara’ chants of devotees to their favourite deity Subramanya swamy or Murugan in Kuppam, Chittoor district. The central character, Subramanyam (Sudheer Babu), is nearly worshipped by the locals after he takes on the goons. "The period setting reminds us of big-ticket movies like 'Pushpa'' he adds. "Even the story smacks similarities with 'KGF' where an outsider becomes people’s savior. Here, it is the father who encourages him to make a lot of money,' he points out.

Sudheer Babu was looking fit and muscular and tried to salvage a contrived and larger-than-life plot but in vain. 'Sudheer would be hoping that the collections would pick up this week since he pinned hopes on his action saga,' he concludes.
