Fans Relieved Vijay Deverakonda Skipped Parasakthi

Many noted that since the film performed poorly and Rana’s role lacked impact, they were glad the actor didn't take the part.

Director Sudha Kongara’s Parasakthi was released in theaters on January 10, 2026. Despite high expectations, the film failed to perform well at the box office.

In a recent interview, Sudha Kongara revealed that she originally planned to include high-profile cameos, similar to the approach used in Nelson Dilipkumar’s Jailer starring Rajinikanth. As part of this plan, she even reached out to Abhishek Bachchan.

"Early on, I wanted actors of the respective languages to represent the historical figures in the film," Kongara explained. "We wanted to include several personalities who were part of the anti-Hindi movement. In fact, I asked Abhishek Bachchan if he would be interested in playing one of those cameos."

The director also shared that Vijay Deverakonda was her initial choice for a key cameo that eventually went to Rana Daggubati. "A long time ago, I approached Vijay Deverakonda for the role of Michael Reddy, but he was busy shooting for Kingdom," she said.

Following Sudha's comments about the missed opportunity with Vijay Deverakonda, his fans took to social media to express their relief. Many noted that since the film performed poorly and Rana’s role lacked impact, they were glad the actor didn't take the part.
