Election Code Delays Pallichattambi; New Release Date Set for April 15
The film features Kayadu Lohar and Vijayaraghavan in key roles and is directed by Dijo Jose Antony, with a script by S. Suresh Babu.

Tovino Thomas’s much-anticipated period drama Pallichattambi has been postponed to April 15, 2026, owing to delays in obtaining the censor certificate amid the election code of conduct in Kerala.
The film was initially scheduled to hit screens on April 10, but the makers chose to shift the release to align with Vishu, hoping to capitalize on the festive footfall and draw family audiences. The film was also planned for a simultaneous release in the Telugu states.
Announcing the delay through an Instagram post on April 8, the makers stated, “We are here to tell the story of an extraordinary personality who was forgotten in the Renaissance history of Kerala. Due to the election code of conduct being in force, we are facing technical difficulties in obtaining the censor certificate.”
Set in the late 1950s in the high ranges of Kerala, Pallichattambi chronicles the journey of an influential local figure during a time of significant social change. The film features Kayadu Lohar and Vijayaraghavan in key roles and is directed by Dijo Jose Antony, with a script by S. Suresh Babu.
The trailer has already generated considerable buzz, raising expectations for this blend of history and mainstream storytelling. The film promises an emotionally intense narrative exploring themes of social change and personal struggle.
While the makers had initially planned a simultaneous Telugu release, it remains to be seen whether the film will arrive in both markets on April 15.
