Director Teja Wins National Anti-Piracy Challenge Award
Director Teja, in collaboration with AI startup Nuronics, takes a stand against piracy with innovative solutions that protect creators from day one.

Director Teja, a staunch advocate for anti-piracy measures, has been honored with the prestigious National Anti-Piracy Challenge Award. “Piracy undermines creativity at its core,” he stated. “That’s why we’ve partnered with Nuronics — a company that shows what can be achieved when AI is driven by purpose. Creators need more than just takedown tools; they need protection from day one.”
Teja received the award from legendary actor Aamir Khan, a long-time collaborator. “I’ve known Aamir for decades, and working with him as a cinematographer was a rewarding experience. He is a true perfectionist,” Teja shared.
In a major boost for India’s innovation sector, Hyderabad-based AI startup Nuronics triumphed over 1,600 teams to win the Create in India Anti-Piracy Challenge, hosted by the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting at WAVES 2025, India’s largest media and entertainment tech summit.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also visited the Create in India pavilion, emphasizing the importance of homegrown solutions to address challenges in media, security, and culture. This innovation holds global promise, offering AI-powered, scalable solutions for industries worldwide, in line with PM Modi’s ‘Made in India for the World’ vision.
“PM Modi’s strong stance against piracy is encouraging, and we’re grateful to see the government backing forward-thinking solutions that can protect the film industry,” Teja remarked.
India’s media and entertainment sector loses over $1.2 billion annually to piracy, highlighting the urgent need for intelligent defense systems. Nuronics, alongside Teja’s Tezaract, is making a bold statement: India is not only creating content — it’s leading the way in safeguarding it.
Teja, known for directing blockbusters like Nuvvu Nenu and Jayam, has also worked with stars like Mahesh Babu in Nijam and has launched over 1,000 actors in Tollywood over the last two decades.
