In an announcement made during the prestigious Cannes Film Festival, it was revealed that Dhanush will portray India’s former President and renowned scientist Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam in an upcoming biopic.
Producer Abhishek Agarwal, known for impactful films like The Kashmir Files, shared his excitement: “This is a dream project for us. Dr. Kalam was an inspirational, path-breaking figure, and we’re honored to bring his story to life with one of Indian cinema’s most talented actors, Dhanush.”
The film, titled Kalam, carries the tagline "The Missile Man of India", and will be directed by Om Raut, best known for Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior and Adipurush. Further details about the film are expected to be announced soon.
