'Coolie' Musical Event Postponed Amid Post-Production Rush

The film is produced by Kalanithi Maran under Sun Pictures and is slated for release on August 14

The much-anticipated pre-release musical event of the Rajinikanth-starrer Coolie – The Power House, scheduled to be held in Mumbai, has been postponed. Touted as a power-packed evening celebrating cinema, art, and music, the event had generated immense excitement among the media and fans alike.

An insider confirmed the delay, saying, “It was set to be a grand celebration with the physical presence of stars like Anirudh Ravichander, Lokesh Kanagaraj, Nagarjuna, and Shruti Haasan, all ready to set the stage on fire.”

However, scheduling conflicts reportedly led to the postponement. “Some of the stars had date clashes, and we are yet to be informed of the revised date. Rajinikanth sir was not expected to attend the event anyway,” the source added.

Another reason for the delay is the film’s tight post-production timeline. “Director Lokesh Kanagaraj and the team are currently working round the clock at the mixing studio. We're in the final stage and need to deliver the film in just four days. So, all hands are on deck,” said the source.

Coolie features an ensemble cast including Rajinikanth, Nagarjuna, Soubin Shahir, Upendra, Shruti Haasan, Sathyaraj, Aamir Khan, and Rachita Ram. The film is produced by Kalanithi Maran under Sun Pictures and is slated for release on August 14, where it will clash at the box office with Ayan Mukerji’s War 2, starring Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR.
