Coolie Collections Dip On Day Two, Clocks ₹12 crore
After a record-breaking opening on day one, the collections of the much-hyped action film Coolie witnessed a dip on its second day in the Telugu states.

After a record-breaking opening on day one, the collections of the much-hyped action film Coolie witnessed a dip on its second day in the Telugu states.
“The film managed to garner ₹12 crore net on day two after raking in ₹16 crore on day one, and it now needs to pick up momentum,” says a distributor.
The Rajinikanth-starrer received mixed reports in certain centres, with a few theatres in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana struggling to draw crowds. “The film rode on strong advance bookings for the first two days, but going forward it has to pull more audiences to sustain,” he adds.
The hype around Lokesh Kanagaraj’s directorial is slowly tapering off in some areas. Rajinikanth and Nagarjuna remain the prime attractions for Telugu audiences, while Aamir Khan’s cameo served as a pleasant surprise.
“It’s the first time Rajinikanth has played a dark role, which came as a surprise for Telugu viewers who are used to seeing him in positive, hero-centric characters,” a trade analyst points out.
With Telugu dubbing rights sold for ₹45 crore, the film still needs to collect another ₹20 crore-plus in the coming days to move closer to the break-even mark. “The next two holidays are crucial for the film to boost its collections—otherwise, tougher times lie ahead,” the distributor concludes.
