Kalyan Padala, a commoner from Vizianagaram, Andhra Pradesh, won Bigg Boss Telugu 9, a season themed "Commoner vs. Celebrities." His victory is the first for a non-celebrity in one of Tollywood's top reality shows, proving authenticity can triumph over star power.

In the grand finale, hosted by Nagarjuna Akkineni with guest Ravi Teja, Padala (also called Kalyan) beat first runner-up Thanuja Puttaswamy. Demon Pavan took third place with a Rs 15 lakh briefcase, totaling about Rs 25.5 lakh earnings. The original prize was Rs 50 lakh.
During the announcement, an emotional Padala received congratulations from Nagarjuna. His proud parents joined him on stage, calling the success a cherished moment. Fans described his journey as a "caterpillar-to-butterfly" transformation.
