Chiranjeevi, Ram Charan Rock Musical Charts, Face-Off Unlikely
Composed by Bheems Ceciroleo, the song became an instant chartbuster, Chiranjeevi and Nayantara onscreen chemisty clikced.

Megastar Chiranjeevi set off a musical storm with “Meesala Pilla,” the first single from his upcoming family entertainer Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu. Composed by Bheems Ceciroleo, the song became an instant chartbuster, Chiranjeevi and Nayantara onscreen chemisty clikced. The track has already crossed 80 million views and continues to dominate national playlists.
Following the momentum, Ram Charan added to the musical wave with “Chikiri Chikiri,” the first single from Peddi. Composed by A.R. Rahman, the song blends rustic rhythms with high-energy choreography, celebrating love in a rural setting. Charan’s electrifying dances and Rahman’s infectious beats have made it a global sensation, trending across multiple countries and touching 110 million views—and counting.
“This is only the beginning,” says Peddi producer Ravi Shankar Yellamanchili. “Ram Charan wanted everything to be exceptional. He practiced tirelessly for the song, and his combination with A.R. Rahman has clicked in a big way. It’s going to set new trends.” He adds that the film itself “has immense potential to connect with the masses.”
On the thematic front, Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu, directed by Anil Ravipudi, is said to be a heartwarming family drama featuring Chiranjeevi and Nayanthara as an estranged couple. In contrast, Buchi Babu Sana’s Peddi is a rural sports drama with a strong emotional core. “Both films are unique in their own way,” the producer notes.
Mythri Movie Makers, who previously delivered blockbuster successes with Chiranjeevi’s Waltair Veerayya and Ram Charan’s Rangasthalam, are thrilled by the father-son musical wave. “It’s wonderful to see Chiranjeevi garu’s song also ruling the charts,” says Ravi Shankar. “It’s a fun musical competition for fans between a revered father and his son.”
He also shares an anecdote highlighting Chiranjeevi’s legendary work ethic: “During post-production in Hyderabad, Chiranjeevi garu personally supervised the finalisation of two songs. His dedication is extraordinary. His illustrious career stands on talent, hard work, and relentless professionalism.”
On the rare “competition” between Chiranjeevi and Ram Charan, he says, “It’s unique in Tollywood. We believe Chiranjeevi garu will set new box office records this January with Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu, and we hope Ram Charan surpasses them in March with Peddi. It’s all friendly because Charan deeply admires his father.”
Writer-director Kona Venkat, currently scripting Chiranjeevi’s next film with director Bobby, adds, “Chiranjeevi effortlessly switches between larger-than-life mass roles and simple characters. After years of solo-hero films, he’s now boosting multistarrers with actors like Ravi Teja and Venkatesh. He’s doing a family drama now and will return with an action entertainer next—he knows how to balance it perfectly.”
A leading distributor sums up the commercial dynamics: “As of now, Ram Charan is ahead with pre-release business around ₹350 crore, while Chiranjeevi’s stands at approximately ₹230 crore including OTT and other rights. Chiranjeevi never intends to compete with his son. Earlier this year, he even deferred the release of Vishwambhara to give space to Ram Charan’s Game Changer. Both have strong business prospects, but a direct clash is very unlikely.”
