Allu Kanakaratnamma, wife of legendary actor and Padma Shri awardee Allu Ramalingaiah, passed away on Saturday morning at the age of 94.

Allu Kanakaratnamma, wife of legendary actor and Padma Shri awardee Allu Ramalingaiah, passed away on Saturday morning at the age of 94. She had been staying with her grandson, actor Allu Arjun, at his residence in Jubilee Hills.
She is survived by her children, including noted producer Allu Aravind, and grandchildren such as actor Allu Arjun. Her final rites will be performed later today at Kokapet.
"Megastar Chiranjeevi and Allu Arjun have already paused their film commitments to be present with the family. Actor Ram Charan, who is in the middle of shooting a song for Peddi, is also expected to arrive soon. Pawan Kalyan’s wife, Anna Lezhneva, has reached Allu Arjun’s residence, though Pawan Kalyan’s own visit is yet to be confirmed,' adds the source.
Kanakaratnamma had been admitted to a hospital in Hyderabad earlier this March. She last made a public appearance in 2022 during the centenary celebrations of Allu Ramalingaiah, when she was brought on stage in a wheelchair.
A family acquaintance recalls that Kanakaratnamma had a keen eye for good cinema and often listened to story narrations for her grandson. She is said to have personally approved Allu Arjun’s Race Gurram and was particularly delighted by the Brahmanandam comedy track in the film.
