Brahmanandam’s Brother Vadan Expresses His Anguish

Vadan said he now lives alone in their hometown and feels hurt that Brahmanandam does not enquire about his well-being or even call him.

Veteran comedian Brahmanandam is regarded as one of the biggest comedy stars in Telugu cinema, with a career spanning several decades. However, the actor is now in the news for a deeply personal reason after his elder brother Vadan spoke about their strained relationship.

In interviews with Telugu news channels, Vadan expressed his disappointment over what he described as a lack of communication from Brahmanandam. He said that four of their siblings have passed away and that only the two brothers remain.

Vadan said he now lives alone in their hometown and feels hurt that Brahmanandam does not enquire about his well-being or even call him.

“We were siblings; four have passed away, and only two of us remain. I am the only one left here in our hometown, all alone. He visited the town recently but left without even exchanging a word of greeting. I keep hoping that my younger brother might call someday and ask, ‘Annayya, how are you?’ But he never calls me,” Vadan said.

He acknowledged that Brahmanandam is a busy actor with professional commitments but said he believes his brother could still find a few minutes to stay in touch.

“He is a big actor. He might be busy with film shootings, but he can surely spare one or two minutes to call me,” Vadan said, expressing his anguish over the lack of communication.

Brahmanandam, whose full name is Kanneganti Brahmanandam, was born in Sattenapalli, Andhra Pradesh. He went on to become one of Indian cinema’s most recognisable comic actors, appearing in more than 1,000 films and earning the Padma Shri for his contribution to Indian cinema.

While Brahmanandam’s professional journey has been an extraordinary success story, his brother’s recent remarks have brought the spotlight onto a much more personal aspect of the veteran actor’s life.
