Pritam Hits Back at Plagiarism Accusations

Music composer Pritam has strongly criticized people accusing his new song Mashooqa of plagiarism. The song is featured in the upcoming film Cocktail 2. Social media users claimed the track sounds similar to a 1993 Italian song. The Italian song is titled Se So Arrubate A Nonna.

Pritam expressed his frustration on Instagram Stories. He targeted his critics and called them self-appointed "music detectives". He joked that these critics have created a new genre called "imaginary similarities". He added that the same people always bring the same inspired by thesis. He concluded by calling the critics his unpaid PR team. Pritam stated that their behavior is not nice.

Cocktail 2 is a spiritual sequel to the 2012 movie Cocktail. The new film stars Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, and Rashmika Mandanna.

Pritam has previously composed hit music for films like Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and Brahmastra. He has dominated the Hindi film industry for over two decades. His work spans more than 125 films.
