CBFC Puts Brakes on Salman’s Maatrubhumi
Re-edited before release, the war epic now hits one last hurdle

Salman Khan’s Maatrubhumi, based on the 2020 Galwan Valley clash between Indian and Chinese troops, has suffered another setback after the CBFC reportedly withheld its certification, making its planned August release increasingly unlikely.
The film was originally titled Battle of Galwan before being renamed Maatrubhumi earlier this year amid diplomatic sensitivities and criticism from sections of Chinese social media.
The project had already missed its April 17 Eid release and was later reworked for an Independence Day weekend launch. The makers have yet to comment officially on the latest certification delay or announce a revised release plan.
