Inside Saif Ali Khan's ₹800 Crore Pataudi Palace

Bollywood's royal couple, Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan, reside in a world of unmatched heritage and luxury, and nothing epitomizes their royal lineage more than the iconic Pataudi Palace. Also known as Ibrahim Kothi, this architectural marvel is nestled in the serene town of Pataudi in Gurgaon district, Haryana.

A Legacy of Heritage and Opulence
The Pataudi Palace, worth an estimated ₹800 crore, spans over 10 sprawling acres and serves as a retreat for the couple and their children, Taimur and Jeh. Built in 1935 by Iftikhar Ali Khan, the last ruling Nawab of Pataudi, the palace carries an extraordinary legacy. Designed by British architect Robert Tor Russell and Australian architect Carl Moltiz Von Hentz, it showcases a blend of royal grandeur and sophisticated design.

Saif Ali Khan inherited the palace after the passing of his father, Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi. However, he had to buy back the property from Neemrana Hotels, which had leased and operated it as a luxury heritage property until 2014.

In an interview, Saif spoke about how the palace symbolizes his deep connection to his late father, adding an emotional layer to its historic significance.

An Architectural Masterpiece
The Pataudi Palace boasts 150 rooms, including:
- Seven bedrooms and dressing rooms
- Seven billiard rooms
- A grand dining area
- An outdoor pool
- A sprawling farming area
- The royal Durbar Hall
- Multi-purpose chambers

Its interiors are equally awe-inspiring, featuring soaring ceilings, vintage chandeliers, antique furniture, priceless artwork, and walls adorned with family portraits. The exterior is a testament to its regal roots, showcasing intricate archways, ornate carvings, and majestic domes.

A Royal Family Retreat
For Saif and Kareena, the palace is more than just a residence—it is a sanctuary where the family escapes from the demands of Bollywood life. Candid photos shared by the couple on social media offer glimpses of their relaxed moments at the palace, from enjoying the lush green lawns to spending time with their children.

A Popular Film Location
Beyond being a royal residence, the Pataudi Palace has also earned fame as a filming location for several Bollywood films. Ranbir Kapoor recently shot scenes for Animal at the property. Iconic movies such as Rang De Basanti, Veer-Zaara, and numerous web series have also utilized its stunning backdrop, further cementing its place in cinematic history.

A Symbol of Timeless Elegance
The Pataudi Palace remains an enduring symbol of heritage, blending royal grandeur with modern utility. For Saif Ali Khan, it is not just an ancestral home but a treasure trove of memories and tradition. As fans catch glimpses of this opulent property through the lens of Bollywood and social media, the Pataudi Palace continues to captivate with its timeless elegance.
