Tiger, Tiger, franchise man
Even as Tiger Shroff has signed on a new project with Vikas Bahl, he is continuing to make merry with his biggest franchise thus far — Baaghi. Though the third instalment of the franchise was released this year and had to be cut short through its theatrical run owing to the pandemic, the fourth instalment has now been announced with Ahmed Khan as the director.
Earlier this year, Sajid Nadiadwala, who produced Tiger’s launch vehicle, Heropanti, had announced a sequel to the film as well. We now hear it will go on the floors in December.
A trade source tells us that the Heropanti sequel will be an action-packed film, as the trailer that came out a few months ago suggested. “As actors are getting confident with the safety protocols in place, action scenes with a lot of physical contact are also going to be shot without a problem now. That is why Ahmed has been given the go ahead to shoot the film before the year ends, too,” says the source.
So Ahmed has now taken over the Baaghi series from director Sabbir Khan and has been handed over the Heropanti franchise as well.
“Tiger trusts him a lot as Ahmed is not only good at choreographing dance sequences but also at envisaging high-octane action scenes,” the source adds.
Interestingly, we are being told that Ahmed Khan is also going to pitch a script to Tiger on the life of Indian explorer Nain Singh Rawat.
