Salman Khan's bodyguard was framed in assault case, cops give him clean chit

Mumbai: After Akshay Kumar’s bodyguard was caught on camera slapping a fan, Salman Khan’s bodyguard Shera recently got booked in an assault case. Shera has now received a clean chit in the case by the Bandra police, who have concluded that a false case was filed by Attar Umar Qureshi to get even with Shera for a verbal argument and to extort money from him, reports said.

Attar Umar Qureshi had claimed that on October 25, he was hit with the butt of a pistol by Shera after a verbal argument. Shera had maintained that he only had a verbal argument with him and that he had not physically assaulted Qureshi as he had not even alighted from his car.

Shera was booked under the IPC sections 326, 503 and 504 and was subsequently taken to the police station. During questioning, he revealed that while travelling in Juhu, a person intentionally fell down in front of his car to stop it.

The police officials tried to investigate on the basis of Shera’s statement and found several taxi drivers and auto rickshaw drivers who did see a man purposely falling down in front of the car and injuring himself.

When Qureshi was questioned on the basis of the evidence, he admitted that he had got agitated after the verbal argument and decided to assault Shera and file a complaint against him in order to damage his and Salman's reputation. He thought that would also give him the opportunity to extort money from Salman.
