Shahid Kapoor’s younger brother Ishaan Khatter is all set to make his foray into movies, making his debut with famed Iranian filmmaker Majid Majidi’s Beyond the Clouds. And it looks like he’s inherited his sense of humour from big brother Shahid.
On being quizzed if he looks at Shahid as competition, Ishaan smiles and says, “Shahid is a paternal figure to me. He’s almost like a teacher. All my life, I’ve learned so much by watching him. I can’t possibly consider him as competition to me. In fact, I would say, we’re a team.”
Majidi’s movie also features Malavika Mohanan in the lead role, and speaks about an adorable sibling relationship. Ishaan reveals that he spoke to his mother and brother at length about the movie.
“I live with my mother, so of course, I talked to her about the film offer. And then, the person whom I shared the news with was none other than my brother,” Ishaan says. “I felt very strongly about the film. So, Shahid just asked me to follow my heart.”
He mentions that Karan Johar was privy to this information too. “As you all know, I’m working with him in my upcoming film (Dhadhak). During that time, we were to start shooting that film, so I spoke to Karan about Majid sir’s film. Karan was gracious enough to give me time, so I could finish this film and start the other one. These are the three people I had spoken to, after I got the offer of the film,” Ishaan says.
