The romantic hero-turned-action hero R. Madhavan, who will be seen in an angry avatar in Saala Khadoos, is excited about the movie and the appreciation he has been receiving, especially from his family.
He says, “My wife is very glad that people will come to know about ‘my real face’. She says, ‘I am so happy that your not so goody-good image will reflect in movies and your asli image will be out’.”
But his mom initially didn’t like his beard. “She would say, ‘Kya bhoot jaise lagte ho!!’ Gradually, when people started commenting positively about my rugged looks, my mom and wife too appreciated it... it means a lot to me,” he says.
What about his son? Does he discuss films and roles too? “Well, he understands stardom and my star status. And whenever my films release, he always inquires things like ‘Papa yeh Tanu Weds Manu ne kitna paisa banaya box office pe’. He also loves to play different sports and has grown as tall as me,” he says. And will he too follow his father’s footsteps?
“At the moment, I don’t know if he would tread in my footsteps or not. All I want from him is to be a good human being, respect people and make use of those ethical values he has learned from his mom who is quite strict at home. Whatever he wants to do professionally, we as parents will always stand by him,” he says.
