Varun Dhawan upset over Dishoom ban in Pakistan
Mumbai: ‘Dishoom’, John Abraham and Varun Dhawan’s buddy cop flick has been banned in Pakistan. The ban has been issued a few days after reports of a blanket ban over Indian movies in Pakistan over the boiling Kashmir issue.
‘Dishoom’, which also stars Jacqueline Fernandez, Akshay Khanna and Nargis Fakhri, has opened to critical and commercial approval owing to its high entertainment quotient.
The ban, supposedly over Pakistan being shown in bad light, has ensured that the movie won’t reach its Pakistani audience, who constitute a major fanbase of Bollywood.
Varun Dhawan, evidently upset over the ban, reacted on twitter. He clarified that the movie doesn't show Pakistan in bad light. The actor had previously maintained, “I would like to clear this. There is no negative reference against Pakistan or any community.” “It is a very positive representation. In fact, what we are trying to show is that for certain people money is their religion. It’s not being an Indian, Pakistani, Hindu, Muslim or Christian. In the capitalistic world that we live in, money is the biggest driving force for most crimes.”
Really upset that #Dishoom is banned in pakistan. I don't think the film eventually shows any country in a bad light. It's a wrong decision

We hope the ban is lifted soon, so our Pakistani brethren can enjoy the Rohit Dhawan directorial, which could soon be developed into a franchise, as well!
