I hosted a Scorpions concert here: Aditya Roy Kapoor

Bollywood star Aditya Roy Kapoor who was in Bengaluru for a brand launch gets candid on his connect to our city.

Some might say he’s a dream boy – you know, curly hair, 6 feet, perfect stubble and smile. That’s what seemed to be on every Bengaluru girl’s mind as they turned out in huge numbers to catch a glimpse of the star at a store launch at a city mall. We chatted up with the star and quizzed him on everything from the city to live-in relationships. (Yup, you heard that right.)

Aditya’s association with Bengaluru goes back to his brief career as a video jockey for Channel V, as he recollects. “I was here for a show called Freedom Express where I did a lot of short stories on personalities in Bengaluru.

That really got me to meet a lot of people from the city and allowed me an insight into their lives. I also hosted a Scorpions concert here once, a few years ago, for which I went up on stage in front of 30,000 people – they were quite nice to me. Both times, the people I’ve interacted with, I’ve found them to be like-minded, fun and cool,” says the actor. “I’ve always loved and enjoyed the food here too. Since music is my thing and I even unwind by playing my guitar or singing, I love the fact that there is good music here and nice places to listen to it too. It also has some great lounges to grab a quick drink,” he says.

Aditya stole the screen and hearts since his big break in Aashiqui 2. Since then, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, Daawat-e-Ishq and Fitoor have kept him busy, until now. “Currently, it’s OK Jaanu,” he says, shrugging off questions about sharing screen space with Shraddha Kapoor. The film is a remake of Tamil super hit OK Kanmani and deals with modern relationships, including live-in. “I’ve never been in a live-in relationship, but I see why it could be interesting to do if you’re seeing someone and you’re serious about them. It gives you a peek into what it would be like to live with them. It might just act like a dress rehearsal,” he laughs.

Ask him if he’s still an eligible bachelor and he smiles, “Yes, I’m a bachelor and no, I’ve no immediate plans for the future either,” quashing all rumours that seem to be plastered on ‘major dailies’. Being Bollywood’s heart throb comes with its own set of cons too and that’s all the link ups. “I handle them by not listening to them,” he says, with a chuckle in his voice. “I’m oblivious to half the rumours out there.”

And he loves to unwind with people who won’t talk about films either. “Hang out with people in the film industry and they’ll only talk about that. But I love catching up with my friends and talking about anything other than movies. I also play sport – football and cricket,” he says.
