Anti-drug disclaimers for Malang: CBFC
The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) jointly decided to remove the drugs from the film Malang, besides awarding an ‘A’ Certificate to Mohit Suri’s film on the drug cartels of Goa.
“The CBFC came down heavily on the drug scenes and asked them to remove words like ‘pot’, ‘joint’ as well as ‘ecstasy’ in the film. They felt that these terms should not be highlighted. In addition, they asked for disclaimers, like how it is used in smoking scenes, apart from a disclaimer which says that they do not support atrocities against women,” says our source in the film trade.
Incidentally the intimate scenes in the film, which have Aditya Roy Kapur doing an Emraan Hashmi, have been smoothly passed.
Anil Kapoor and Disha Patani also topline the cast of this film, which deals with the drug mafia and is a violent love story set in Goa. Kapoor plays a twisted cop in the film, which releases on February 7.
