3 Idiots Actor Omi Vaidya Backs Sonam Wangchuk's Hunger Strike
The protest focuses on several core issues, including demands related to Ladakh and recent NEET examination irregularities.

Actor Omi Vaidya of Aamir Khan's 3 Idiots fame has openly supported educationist Sonam Wangchuk, who is currently on an indefinite hunger strike at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi. The protest focuses on several core issues, including demands related to Ladakh and recent NEET examination irregularities.
Vaidya is widely known for his popular role as Chatur Ramalingam in 3 Idiots, which was released in theatres in 2009. Interestingly, Aamir Khan played the character Phunsukh Wangdu in that same film. That character was heavily inspired by the real life of Sonam Wangchuk. Vaidya urged citizens to pay attention to the ongoing protest. He specifically stated that people should not let the real-life Phunsukh Wangdu die.
Wangchuk has been protesting to draw the government's focus toward critical local and national administrative matters. The protest has gained significant traction on social media. Public figures are increasingly speaking out about his worsening health condition. Vaidya became one of the celeb voices to officially join the conversation.
