High-decibel drama hits Saif Ali Khan starrer 'Chef' shoot

The crew lodged a complaint of noise pollution with the Fort Kochi police

Kochi: It seems the crew shooting Saif Ali Khan starrer ‘Chef’ will have more troubles during their stay in Fort Kochi. A day after the crew faced the ire of a local spa owner Auria Keri over “disruptive” shooting before her house, she lodged a complaint with the Fort Kochi police that her car parked on the street was “damaged” during the episode on Thursday and that the crew was “responsible”.

“She complained that someone punctured her car’s tyre and there were scratches on the vehicle and accused the crew members of being behind it. Since it’s a “negligible” charge, we have sent it for the local court’s opinion. If the court sanctions it, then we will register an FIR,” said Raj Kumar P, Circle Inspector, Fort Kochi. On Thursday, shooting was stalled when the angry woman put her music system on full volume, disrupting the film’s shoot after her pleas and complaints to authorities to shift the shooting venue from the front of her house to elsewhere was not heeded.

She used amplifiers and played ultra loud music, affecting the film’s on field dubbing. The crew lodged a complaint of noise pollution with the Fort Kochi police who in turn sought the services of a sound Engineer of the Kerala State Pollution Control Board. “The team took the reading on whether the sound exceeded the permitted decibel level. We will lodge an FIR against her based on the report expected in a day or two,” said S Dwijesh, Fort Kochi SI.
