Shah Rukh Khan and Akshay Kumar to clash next year?
Days after Rustom’s release, Akshay Kumar announced his next project Crack with Neeraj Pandey. The actor has joined hands with the director for the fourth time (after Special 26, Baby and Rustom) and the film will hit theatres on Independence Day, 2017.
Recent reports reveal that the film will now most likely face a clash with Shah Rukh Khan’s next which is being directed by Imtiaz Ali. The filmmaker is looking to release his untitled film on the same holiday week in August 2017. If the plan falls in place, then Akshay’s film will find itself locking horns with the SRK-starrer that also features Anushka Sharma as the female lead.
This isn’t the first time that Shah Rukh and Akshay’s films have been pitted against each other. Earlier, Chennai Express and Once Upon a Time in Mumbai Dobaara faced a clash but after a lot of meetings and discussion, it was averted.
In Imtiaz Ali’s next, Shah Rukh Khan plays the role of a tourist guide. While taking a group on a European tour, SRK meets Anushka Sharma and the two fall in love. The actress will be seen playing a Gujarati girl in the film.
