Varun Dhawan has hiked his price post Badrinath Ki Dulhania success?
Varun Dhawan who was cast in the lead role in the Yash Raj Film Sui Dhaaga: Made in India directed by Sharat Katariya has been paid a figure much higher than what he was paid for Badrinath Ki Dulhaniya, his last box office juggernaut.
Dhawan decided to hike his price even though it was a Yash Raj Film movie. Normally most actors get paid much less when they work for the country’s premier production house YRF. But then, Varun did not want to compromise on his price at all. More so when it was Ranbir Kapoor who was earlier considered for the lead and did not sign up for the film being produced by Maneesh Sharma.
“YRF has a policy that we do not comment about the casting process and the actors who are not finalised for the project,” says a YRF spokesperson when asked about Ranbir being replaced by Varun Dhawan in the film. So, what was Varun’s final remuneration offered for the film?
“As a policy YRF doesn’t share any details about our artiste’s remuneration,” is what YRF has to offer.
All said and done, it has been a win-win for Varun in Sui Dhaaga as he managed to get the role and paid well for it too.
