'I never wanted to': Kriti Sanon on smoking in Bareilly Ki Barfi
Kriti Sanon is not someone who likes smoking or endorses that habit for anyone. But then she was made to smoke in her film Bareilly Ki Barfi. Though she says that she hated that even after doing her role in the film, she martyred herself for the role.
“I have always been anti-smoking. I never wanted to smoke. I did not like it even after doing it. But it was something that I had to do for the character. I didn’t want it to look fake, so I had to do it the right way. I could have opted just to do a mouth fag, but it wouldn’t have looked good on screen. When it comes to smokers, they can easily find out whether a person is actually smoking it or not. There are certain small nuances like how a person is holding a cigarette etc., that can also be spotted easily,” says Kriti, who also celebrated her birthday on the sets on Thursday by cutting a cake in the presence of co-stars Rajkummar Rao and Ayushmann Khurrana.
Incidentally she plays a break dancer and a Michael Jackson fan in the film much like her debut film co-star Tiger Shroff who had a similar fetish in Munna Michael.
