Mumbai: Ranvir Shorey is an exuberant actor but is also someone who hasn’t got his dues from the Bollywood industry. After making his debut in 2002 with Ek Chotisi Love Story as Manisha Koirala’s boyfriend, Ranvir did several films like Jism, Lakshya and others before he was finally noticed in Khosla Ka Ghosla. The actor was last seen in dacoit-drama Sonchiriya (2019).

His personal life too saw a lot of ups and downs. The actor got married to Konkona Sen Sharma in 2010 but both parted ways around 2015. According to reports, Ranvir had taken the blame on himself but he had also clarified that he believed in the institution of marriage and thus wanted to give a second chance. The couple also has a son, Haroon, and although they have separated, they continue to take care of him together.

Way back, when we visited Ranvir’s residence once, he was seen baby-sitting Haroon. So, does he still baby-sit? “Oh yes! I still do babysitting. I take care of his studies although Konkona takes care of his studies more than me. Both of us, as parents, are always there for our son,” says Ranvir. So, no tutor for Haroon? “No way… chance hi nahi hai jee! There is no scope of a tutor. We help him in his studies and when he grows up, I am sure he will study all by himself.”

When asked if he is a hands-on father, Ranvir agrees and says he has always been one and will continue to be. “He is in class 3 now so he manages to eat by himself and can do a little bit for himself. But we do have to take care of him on the whole. He is not yet that grown up to be able to look after himself independently,” he adds.

And what does Haroon wish to take up as a profession? Ranvir laughs and adds, “He knows both his parents are actors so he keeps wishing to become an actor. However, we do wish sincerely that he chooses some other profession. But, yes, he is a big dramebaaz.”

When asked if we will get to see Ranvir and Konkona together in a film, pat came the reply, “We have not consciously planned to work together in a film. You need to wait and watch,” he smiles. The two last worked together in A Death in the Gunj which was written and directed by Konkona and Ranvir was acting in the film.
