'I don't agree that we blindly follow the West': Priyanka Chopra on fashion

Priyanka Chopra is now a personality to reckon with— nationally and internationally. She had made India proud and has also propagated her ‘Indianness’ in every way.

Recently, PC was in the news for only using and following designs and designers from the West. When asked about that she jumps to reply. “Please don’t say so!” she says, firmly. “We are fortunate that all our girls — Sonam Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Anushka Sharma and myself — wear International brands as well as Indian ones. Whether we’re in India or abroad, we wear what’s in fashion. Please don’t put our fashion statement down. In fact, we usually only follow trends that are in vogue. Hum gowns yahan par bhi to pehente hai! We have an amalgamation of Indian as well as Western fashion, we don’t blindly follow the West. Our designers too are excellent in whatever they bring about. So, I don’t agree that we blindly follow the West.”

Moving on to the topic about her film, Baywatch, Priyanka says, “Dwayne Johnson and the rest of the cast have divided the promotional strategy of our film. Dwayne could not make it to India owing to other promotional activities. I will also be promoting Baywatch abroad on Television. So, we have sorted out a promotional strategy.”
