Bollywood celebrities lauded Hollywood superstar DiCaprio for \"finally\" winning an Oscar.

Mumbai: Bollywood celebrities Farhan Akhtar, Sonakshi Sinha and Aditi Rao Hydari lauded Hollywood superstar Leonardo DiCaprio for "finally" winning an Oscar at the 88th Academy awards.

DiCaprio's cold streak at the Oscars finally came to an end after 23 years as he won the best actor trophy for his role of a wounded fur trapper seeking revenge in 'The Revenant'.

"... And all that can be said about @LeoDiCaprio winning is.. Finally!!!," Akhtar posted on Twitter.

Sonakshi heaped praise on DiCaprio's acceptance speech, where the 41-year-old actor discussed climate change and its impact on planet. "Thank you @LeoDiCaprio for bringing attention to climate change on the #Oscars stage. I think they should give you another one JUST for that."

Actress Diana Penty tweeted, "FINALLY #LeonardoDiCaprio wins what he has long deserved. Woohoo!! #Oscars #2016 #TheRevenant @LeoDiCaprio."

"Finally! Wohooooo!!! @LeoDiCaprio #RevenantFarhan's," wrote Farhan's 'Wazir' co-star Aditi.

'ABCD' actress Lauren Gottlieb said, "5time nom #LeonardoDiCaprio wins. #AlejandroGonzalezInarritu wins 2yrs in a row."

'Hero' star Athiya Shetty posted, "Finally. #LeonardoDiCaprio #Oscars."

"Finally after 5 nominations @leodicaprio, a brilliant actor, wins the #oscar for a wonderful performance in #TheRevenant," said filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar.

Quoting a line from his lengthy acceptance speech, Huma Qureshi said, "'I'm not taking tonight for granted' @LeoDiCaprio ... Andddd that's how it's done #Oscar2016 #finally #happyfangirl"
