Aamir Khan to look lean in his next

While many would shift the onus on others, Aamir takes full responsibility.

Mumbai: After giving one hit after another for years and earning the title of ‘perfectionist’, Aamir Khan had a flop late last year with Thugs of Hindustan. The films failed to impress critics and audience alike. While many would shift the onus on others, Aamir takes full responsibility.

When asked how to survive after a flop, Aamir quickly replies, “By going forward and doing the next film,” and adds, “I am happy that I have received not one but four great scripts. Probably I will choose two out of these four films.”

Aamir can be seen sporting a beard. When asked if it is for his look in upcoming projects? He says, “Whenever I have to get into a new character for my next film, I start growing my hair and beard so that I can slip into whatever look we choose for the character. It gives me the flexibility.”

He also seemed bulkier and upon quizzing if it also has to do something with the script of his next, he finally reveals a bit. “I will actually be losing weight for it. Because I am not shooting right now, I have put on weight. I enjoy when I am not shooting and take the privilege of being my normal self.”

Aamir has recently produced a documentary titled Rubaru Roshni, which aired on television this Republic Day in seven different languages. Directed by Svati Chakravarty Bhatkal, the documentary showcases three impactful tales of forgiveness.

The actor shares a long association with Svati (who is married to his school friend Satyajit Bhatkal) and walking that lane of memories, Aamir says, “You know my first wife Reena and I got married secretly. It was a civil marriage and the only proper witness to it were Satya, Svati and my cousin Anand.” Revealing how economical his first marriage was, Aamir adds, “My marriage to Reena was the most economical marriage. I had reached Bandra by bus number 211. I had bought a ticket for merely 50 paise. From Bandra West, I travelled to Bandra East through the bridge and then I walked to Griha Nirman Bhavan and reached the court where marriages are registered and the marriage was registered for only Rs 10.”
