400 lamps to illuminate Bhansali's world of Padmavati
Bhansali is known for erecting grand, visually appealing sets in his films.
Mumbai: Director of period drama ‘Padmavati’, Sanjay Leela Bhansali (SLB) has turned his set into a replica of Chittogarh fort to do complete justice to the script of his magnum opus.
In order to create recreate the fort, SLB has used Rajasthani paintings and 400 diyas (earthen lights) for the ‘ghoomar’ song. Deepika, who plays the titular role in the film, had to go through rigorous training of one month to learn the dance form.
The song will have local Chari dancers dancing with Deepika and the feel of it is will be a royal experience.
‘Padmavati’ will see Ranveer Singh essaying the role of tyrant ruler Alauddin Khilji and Shahid Kapoor will be Raja Rawal Ratan Singh, Deepika’s husband.
