Nawazuddin Siddiqui to play an astranaut alongside Sushant in Chandamama Door Ke
Mumbai: Nawazuddin Siddiqui has no qualms attempting diametrically diverse roles that push him way out of his comfort zone, probably because despite of his characteristic humility, he’s well aware of his immense potential as an actor.
The actor, who had signed on to play a grey role and dance alongside Tiger Shroff in ‘Munna Michael,’ has now joined current heartthrob Sushant Singh Rajput in ‘Chandamama Door Ke,’ to play an astronaut.
The sci-fi film, helmed by Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan, follows a team of Indian astronauts who land up on the moon, in the year 2018. Nawazuddin, whose favourite film from the genre is Christopher Nolan’s ‘Interstellar,’ is extremely kicked about the project.
“It's a futuristic story never attempted in Bollywood. I enjoy experimenting with new things and do not want to attach myself to any particular genre,” he told Mumbai Mirror.
Sanjay, who had also helmed the critically acclaimed sports drama, ‘Lahore,’ apparently researched heavily for the film.
Unable to contain his excitement, Nawaz added, “The physical prep will be extensive as we will have to practice moving around in an astronaut's uniform and dealing with anti-gravity situations. It is going to be a difficult role but I am super excited!”
Speaking of Sushant, who’s just had a monster hit in ‘MS Dhoni: The Untold Story,’ and is currently working on Homi Adajania ‘Takadum’ alongside Parineeti Chopra and Irrfan Khan, the critic’s darling said, “Sushant and I know each other well. But we've both been busy and not met in a long time. We will have a script reading session together soon.“
