Angry Kerala mum disrupts shoot of Saif Ali Khan's Chef in Fort Kochi

The actor stars in the official Indian adaptation of the Hollywood hit, being helmed by Raja Krishna Menon.

Mumbai: An extensive Bollywood shooting schedule your neighbourhood might be the dream of the average Indian, but not for this Kerala mum.

Saif Ali Khan, who’s been shooting his official remake of ‘Chef’ in Kochi, was the subject of an angry local’s displeasure. The shooting was stalled by an anglo-Indian, Auria Keri, who resides in Fort Kochi, who was unimpressed by the disruptive shoot of the Raja Krishna Menon, affecting her children’s studies. The very angry mother put her music system on full volume, retaliating by disrupting the film’s shoot, which will have sync sound and no subsequent dubbing.

One of the neighbours told Mumbai Mirror, "She was especially troubled that her two children were not being able to concentrate on their studies due to the ongoing shooting schedule." Auria herself had shunned the media. Auria, who runs a spa was also unhappy about the shoot affecting her clientele, since the shoot prevented them from reaching her spa. The lady, married to a German, began using amplifiers and playing ultra loud music.

Kerala State Pollution Control Board officials ended up visiting the location for elaborate scrutiny. "We will submit a report to the police on Friday . However, the sound was within the permitted decibel levels when we reached the spot," said a senior engineer.

Fort Kochi SI, Dwijesh S Fort Kochi's municipal councillor Shiny Mathew revealed, "We received a complaint of noise pollution from the film crew and we alerted the department of pollution. Further action will be taken as soon as we get the report from the department."

Saif, whose last few Bollywood outings have been nothing less than disastrous, desperately needs a hit and the last thing he needed was public outrage against his potential hit vehicle.
