Reliable sources say that Pakistani actor Fawad Khan, who plays one of the four principal characters in Karan Johar’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil (ADHM) won’t be in India to promote the film.
Says a source, “Karan’s plans to bring together the actors — Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma and Fawad — for the promotions of ADHM have fallen through. Fawad was to join the team in the second week of October, but considering the escalated political tensions, the film will be promoted without him.”
However the source dismisses talk of Fawad not appearing on the next season of Koffee With Karan: “There’s still time. Karan can always record Fawad’s episode in Dubai.”
Staying away
Sources say Pakistani artistes who have made a place for themselves in Bollywood are planning to stay away until the furore blows over. A prominent producer-director says that Pakistani entertainers have been asked to stay “home”: “The fine actors and musicians who work in our country have been advised by their government to stay home and seek work there. I don’t think we’ll be seeing Fawad or Ali Zafar in Mumbai in the near future.”
