Attention forces you to not indulge in self pity: Katrina on breakup with Ranbir

After Ranbir Kapoor, Katrina Kaif opens up about their very public break up, calls it a tough phase.

Mumbai: Recently we saw Ranbir Kapoor coming forward and opening up about his very public break up with Katrina Kaif, whom he dated for six years. In an interview, the actor only had sweet things to say about his ex lover Katrina as he called her one of most influential, motivational entity in his life.

Now, Katrina Kaif has broken her silence on their relationship in a recent interview. The actress was asked how she got up and continued with her routine with a brave face to which Katrina replied, “You know what I think, its something that came to me many times, if I was a person who did not have a luxury.. see I do think being an actor is quite a luxurious job, we have staff and we are treated specially, to be fair. But if I worked in say, an office or if I had a normal job, you are still going to go to work. You are still going to be required to do your job."

Earlier this year, Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif called their six-year long relationship quits. The news shocked everyone as most assumed that the two were to tie the knot soon. Ever since their break-up, we heard a lot about the ex-lovers finding it hard to be in the same room with each other.

Sidharth Malhotra, who was sitting beside Katrina during the interview, said that it would be different for a celebrity, Katrina smiled and said, “But you are still feeling it in your heart, right? Every human still feels the same. Your emotions are still the same.”

“You can have your moments where you cannot be any lower and things cannot be tougher but I take it as a challenge, and that's what you have to do. You know, in some way all the attention is a good thing. It forces you to step up. It forces you to not indulge in self pity and feeling sorry for yourself. It forces you to get yourself together and stand up quicker because you want to show your best face to the world,” the actress concluded.

Just few days back, Ranbir Kapoor made headlines when he spoke about his relationship with Katrina and cleared that there was no bitterness. “After my parents, she’s been the most influential, most motivational entity in my life and I hold that very dear. So, I don’t want to speak about it. There’s no negativity, there is no sense of bitterness, so there’s nothing to talk about,” Ranbir Kapoor had said about his terminated relationship with Katrina Kaif.

However, soon after Ranbir’s interview, those who know the couple well ridiculed the statement.

A source close to the couple decried Ranbir’s comment and had said that his actions did not live up to his words. “He calls Katrina motivational whereas in reality he took her for granted to a large extent. She put everything including her career on hold for the sake of this relationship and was all set to change her life completely. She stopped signing films and was preparing to become Mrs Ranbir Kapoor. What did she get in return? At the end of their seven-year relationship, Ranbir treated Katrina rather badly and left her in a lurch,” the source had told us.

Sources also revealed that Ranbir wants to clear the air with Katrina before they start promoting their next film, Jagga Jasoos. Katrina, though, isn’t biting the bait that easily.
