Shamshera roars on

Contrary to rumours of the film losing its sheen after Sonchiriya, YRF is planning to make it even bigger than Thugs of Hindostan.

Despite rumours that the failure of the Sushant Singh Rajput-starrer Sonchiriya may have robbed the Ranbir Kapoor-Sanjay Dutt-Vaani Kapoor film Shamshera of its lusture, the shoot of the YRF film is blissfully being set up at Film City in Mumbai.

“There were rumours about how Shamshera was shelved and it would not happen at all. Despite that negative buzz, the shoot of the film is on and the makers are ensuring that the film gets as big as it can be. It is one of the biggest films from the YRF banner after Thugs of Hindostan, and they have learnt their lesson in the Aamir Khan film. Director Karan Malhotra has a film like Agneepath right behind him when he is doing the film and he knows his job pretty well,” says an industry source.

“The sets are being mounted at the moment and the shoot will begin very soon,” adds the source.

Ranbir Kapoor is said to be playing a double role, of a father and a son, in the film.
