If there’s one thing that Amitabh Bachchan just can’t get rid of, it’s his commitment towards his social media pages, which he has been maintaining for a few years now. As for his followers, he calls them his ‘little family’ and says that he likes to listen to them and no matter what, he keeps them updated on what’s happening in his life. It is no news that Big B, who has several million followers on his blog, Twitter and Facebook accounts, is more diligent when it comes to constantly keeping them updated than many of his contemporaries. But while many believe that a superstar of his stature must just be allotting work to others, the lesser-known fact is that Big B makes sure he is awake till 3-4 am updating his blog. He manages to do it without a single day’s break. On his commitment to his online fans he says, “It’s because I have never missed a single day on my blog. So far, I’ve logged 2,890 days without a break. On Twitter, it’s 2,269 days and on Facebook it’s 1,368 days. I don’t want to break that continuity.”
So does he also get involved in the nitty-gritty of updating the blog? You may be reading this here for the first time but Big B admits that he does. “I do all of it myself. Lot of people think I have a team that does it for me. I get the photographs from my photographer; I resize them myself, because these are high quality when they come. So firstly it comes to me, then I drag them onto my desktop and resize them according to the needs before they go on the blog. Some photographs you have to edit, because there are certain elements that you don’t want. So you crop it, enhance it and edit it. Once the pictures are resized, I tabulate them, drag them and load them on the blog and then I write about them. I have a very elementary software but there are wonderful apps available and I am going to sit with someone and learn them too.”
He says he wants to keep up with the technology and learn to adapt to new things. He says, “It’s fantastic. But I see some of the artwork they (fans) do with some of my photographs and I wonder how they do it. So I keep asking them (fans) and I also ask my digital team. They have told me there are wonderful apps and they’ve told ‘anytime you want we will come and teach you’.” Be it movies or his social media pages, Amitabh Bachchan’s commitment is unmatched.
