I have no friends in Bollywood, except the Shroffs, says Disha Patani
Actress Disha Patani made her debut with Telugu film Loafer opposite Varun Tej and went on to do a small but memorable role in M.S. Dhoni : The Untold Story. Now, her forthcoming film, Baaghi 2, with alleged boyfriend Tiger Shroff, is all set to release.
Disha reveals, “I have no friends in Bollywood, except the Shroffs. The entire family is very helpful, Tiger is no exception. I am happy to have them as my friends.”
Responding to rumours of a relationship with Tiger Shroff, Disha says, “Tiger and I have a platonic relationship. It is social media that creates news about us. Whenever we visit a restaurant or watch a film together, they put up such news.”
Recalling her foray into films, Disha says, “I always had this desire to become a pilot but once when I was visiting Mumbai to participate in a contest, an agency saw me and started sending me audition calls. Soon after, I started modeling and doing commercials. And one fine day, I was offered a role in M.S.Dhoni.” She adds, “Even the critics appreciated my performance in the film. I am happy I have made it this far without any godfather.”
Disha admits that she is very lucky that her family cooperated with her when she decided to live all by herself in Mumbai. “I left home with just '500! It was only after reaching here that I made some money on my own. I did not wish to borrow money from my parents because I chose to live here and make my own living,” says the actress.
Interestingly, Disha has not yet had a tryst with the critics. The actress admits, “I have yet to prove myself. Even if I were to hear criticism about my performances, I would try to evolve and work on my weaknesses. Uncalled for criticism hurts. But I am a positive person and will learn.”
On talks of her replacing Shruti Hassan in the much awaited project Sangamitra, Disha reacts, “I don’t know about replacing Shruti, all I know is that I will be doing this trilingual film which is being shot simultaneously in Telugu,Tamil and Hindi. I am happy to be a part of this film.”
