Sonu Sood is not just playing the parallel lead to Jackie Chan’s lead act in Kung Fu Yoga, he’s also the co-producer of the Stanley Tong movie. The actor is, therefore, leaving no stone unturned to ensure that the film gets the best possible release in India. In this endeavour, he decided to skip the premiere of the movie held in China on Thursday evening, despite the fact that Jackie was keen to have his new best-buddy from India join him for the occasion.
Frazzled with a million marketing obligations, Sonu had to bow out. “Much as I’d have liked to be there, I can’t leave right now,” said the actor. “We’re just a week away from the release, and I’m handling everything all by myself. I don’t have a corporate house or a team of marketing experts to help me. I’m supervising the release of Kung Fu Yoga all by myself.” The movie opens in China and Singapore this week.
