Aamir Khan, Hrithik Roshan busy? Call Shah Rukh Khan
Shah Rukh Khan was recently in New Delhi to celebrate 22 years of one of the city’s multiplexes. The actor had previously met acid attack victims for whom his Meer Foundation had organised surgeries. The Meer Foundation, which helped over 120 women and girls whose faces had been disfigured by acid attacks, is named after SRK’s father Meer Taj Mohammed Khan.
“Shah Rukh was very emotional after he heard some women talk; he spoke to these brave women who had fought adversity and were ready to fight for themselves after surgery. Later, he went for an event at PVR Anupam, which had opened 22 years ago with the screening of his film Yes Boss,” says a source.
Shah Rukh, however, was in a good mood at the multiplex revamp. “The guys (Ajay Bijli of PVR) realised that I am free. I do not have any work. Salman is busy and so is Aamir Khan. Hrithik Roshan is very busy too, so they called me,” guffawed Shah Rukh in his inimitable style.
Bijli, who laughed at Shah Rukh’s joke, said that it was his film that brought in the first piece of business to his multiplex. “Other films we were showing then like The Ghost and the Darkness, among others, were doing 10-15 percent business, and Yes Boss opened at 100 percent. So when we were planning the revamp, we knew we wanted him here,” he said.
