Mumbai: Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif may have broken up last year but the alleged former couple hitting splitsville is talked about even to this day.
One movie that everyone assumed will get badly affected by the break-up was Anurag Basu’s ‘Jagga Jasoos’ and the director knew it all too well.
There were even reports of Ranbir and Katrina not willing to promote ‘Jagga Jasoos’ together because of their history, but the duo is trying to prove all those rumours wrong with their forced camaraderie at promotional activities.
At one such promotional interview, Ranbir and Katrina tried too hard to stay professional, but their personal differences certainly took over, which was quite evident through their expressions.
Right from the beginning of the interaction, there was something not right, Katrina pulled the savage hi-5 trick on Ranbir. When he was responding back, she immediately pulled back her hand.
The passive aggression soon returned while Katrina pointed out at Ranbir saying, “After 4 o’clock his jokes start to become very bad, so just forgive him.”
Continuing with the interview, when the host asked her about the dynamics her character Shruti shared with Jagga (Ranbir) in the film.
While Katrina was obediently and calmly answering the question saying, “I think both the characters are very unusual… Both Jagga and Shruti are quirky… Very emotional people also, I think that…” and suddenly Ranbir barges in with an explanation of his own. Cutting her statements off, he says, “But it’s not treated as a romantic film. I think the romance is in their characteristics coming together. She treats him like a kid.”
Infuriated by it, Katrina squeezes in saying, “And in the real life he treats me like a kid. Like I know nothing because he won’t let me finish my sentences…”(In what context is Katrina talking here?)
Ranbir being Ranbir, rambled on, “The character is disaster prone…She’s Calamity Jane.”
Ranbir being one of the producers of the film seemed quite apprehensive, but Katrina took charge and addressed it right there. “You do realise you’re talking about my character when I’m sitting right here.”
“But you’re not saying it properly. I’m a producer of the film,” and he concluded the squabble. Well, we hope the movie excels, both the actors are leaving no stone unturned to make this detective-drama work. Co-produced by Ranbir Kapoor, Anurag Basu and Siddharth Roy Kapur, ‘Jagga Jasoos’ is slated to release on July 14....
