Renuka Shahane who last directed a Marathi film Rita, based on her mother Shanta Gokhale’s famed book Rita Welinkar is all set to sit in the director’s chair once again.
The actress is all set to make her Hindi directorial debut with Tribhanga for producer Siddharth P Malhotra, whose last directorial film in Bollywood was critically acclaimed film Hichki.
“Kajol was not sure if she could be a part of the film, but now she has confirmed her presence in the film. The film set in Mumbai is based on three women of a Mumbai family. Since Kajol is adept at the Marathi tonality, she has been roped in. Shabana Azmi and Karwaan fame actress Mithila Palkar are the other two women in the film. It will go on floors once the male and other key characters are locked,” informs a trade source.
Kajol was initially approached for the film, but had not confirmed her presence, but agreed later to be part of Tribhanga.
