Irrfan Khan is not happy with Kangana Ranaut. Says a source, “Irrfan was happy to be paired with Kangana in Sai Kabir’s next film. But when Kangana opted out, Irrfan took the snub personally. He feels Kangana opted out because she felt he had the better role.”
At a recent event Irrfan was seen mock-dialling Kangana on his phone and not getting her on the line. And Irrfan is not the only one who is wary, we hear after Vishal Bhardwaj’s Rangoon, even Saif Ali Khan and Shahid Kapoor are guarded in their enthusiasm about the actress.
Prior to Divine Lovers, Ketan Mehta was supposed to bring Kangana and Irrfan together in a biopic on Ghazal legend Begum Akhtar.
That too didn’t happen. “Maybe it wasn’t Kangana’s intention to snub Irrfan. Ketan’s film on Begum Akhtar just didn’t materialise. As for Divine Lovers, Kangana turned it down purely for creative reasons. After the fiasco of Revolver Rani she didn’t want to work with the same director (Sai Kabir) again,” says a source.
