Angrezi Mein Kehte Hai: Sanjay Mishra and Anshuman Jha share student and teacher bond

The Harish Vyas directorial also stars Shivani Raghuvanshi, Ekavali Khanna and Pankaj Tripathi in pivotal roles.

Sanjay Mishra and Anshuman Jha will soon be seen in Harish Vyas’ upcoming film, ‘Angrezi mein kehte hai’, a sweet love story revolving around a 25 year old teaching a 55 year old the importance of saying ‘I love you’. Interestingly, the two actors who share majority of the screen time in the film took real life instances and incorporated them in the film to up the realism in scenes.

Anshuman Jha claims it was one of the most enriching experiences of his career. “Sanjay ji, apart from being the finest actor in the country today, is the most amazing co-star one can have. There were so many instances and anecdotes we discussed and in some way or the other tried incorporating it in the film. He chuckled about how in his times expressing love was so different from now and I would keep him up to date on how things work today and especially the power of the internet,” he said.

The two Uttar Pradesh boys (Jha was born in Allahabad & Mishra was brought up in Varanasi) have a bit of a guru-Shishya rapport. The camaraderie clearly came out well as ‘Angrezi mein kehte hai’ won best film at HBO’s South Asian Film festival.

Apart from the accolades at film festivals, what Jha considers his biggest compliment was when Sanjay Mishra called him up post the screening and showered praises on his performance. “Getting appreciation from an artist like Sanjay ji is something I hold very special,” says Jha.

The Harish Vyas directorial also stars Shivani Raghuvanshi, Ekavali Khanna and Pankaj Tripathi in pivotal roles.
