Mumbai: Anushka Sharma's second foray into film production, 'Phillauri,' had released to predominantly positive reviews.
The film, which also stars Diljit Dosanjh, who took Bollywood by storm with his phenomenal act in 'Udta Punjab,' alongside 'Life of Pi' fame Suraj Sharma, had implemented some quirkily aggressive promotional campaigns prior to the release.
And now, the film's opening weekend figures are out.
According to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, the film has grossed approximately 15.25 crore rupees in its opening weekend, showing a steady growth.
The film had approximate collections of 4.02 crore rupees on Friday, 5.20 crore rupees on Saturday and 6.03 crore rupees on Sunday.
The positive word-of-mouth is expected to help the film survive the Monday test and sustain a healthy collection through the weekend.
The Anshai Lal directorial also stars Menreen Pirzada and Manav Vij in crucial roles.
