Shah Rukh Khan's digital project not a web series but a film
Shah Rukh Khan’s acting plans in the lead roles may not be on track but the actor has confirmed to appear in an extended cameo in the film Mental Hai Kya, a crime-thriller film starring Kangana Ranaut and Rajkummar Rao.
Shahrukh, who also runs his production house Red Chillies Entertainment, is not stopping just at the first show that he planned for Netflix titled Bard of Blood. He has also signed up to do a project on the class of ‘83. Well, this is not a film around India’s World Cup win but a team of sharpshooters and encounter specialists trained by the Mumbai cops to handle terrorism and the underworld in 1983. “From what we have heard, it is not going to be a web series but a film made exclusively for Netflix Originals. It is going to be mounted like a period drama in 1983 with multiple references to happenings around that era. This is also the time when Vasantdada Patil was the Chief Minister of Maharashtra and will be part of the film. There will be a reference to the ’83 world cup as well during one of the sequences,” says a source close to the development of the film unit.
Atul Sabharwal who directed Aurangzeb starring Arjun Kapoor for Yash Raj Films is expected to direct the film that is being mounted on a huge scale. Shah Rukh is also collaborating with Sunir Khetrpal for Azure Entertainment’s film called Operation Khukhri. However, not much is known of his involvement as an actor in the film. Also, SRK is co-producing Badla with Khetrpal.
