In talks with an international company to start a show on lines of Big Mama: Kapil

Kapil Sharma, gearing up for the release of his upcoming movie 'Firangi,' spoke at length about the film.

Mumbai: Kapil Sharma’s Firangi is all set to take off on December 01. Kapil and his director Rajeev Dhingra are great pals right from their school days. But, Kapil has seen life closely as his father expired while Kapil was still young.

“Yes, I started working at the PCO when I was just in 9th class. In those days, PCO held an important communication mode for the citizens of Punjab who had travelled abroad on professional ventures. I could make some fast bucks. I could thus pay off my fees. Next I also played snookers and got a job as the instructor for some time. I unhesitatingly worked to fetch money in order to be able to earn a living for myself,” he reminisced.

Despite his explosive onscreen persona, Kapil has always been a reticent introvert.

Elaborating on the same, he said, “I was a really shy boy in school. While my friend Rajeev was a naughty student, I would be shy as I did not wish to offend any of my teachers. You never know when my math or English assignments could go wrong and teacher could yell at me. But because I was shy she would handle me with care. We would bunk school and watch films and attend circus as well. Our principal was very strict. Whenever we went to ‘Chitra’ theatres he would come to the theatres stop the running show and with a torch would catch hold of us. Make us do the ‘Murga’ pose outside the theatres only. Slowly and gradually, I started doing theatre with Rajeev. I slowly and gradually shunned my shyness.

Adding more about Rajeev, he revealed, “I trusted Rajeev as I was involved right from scripting level with him while I decided to produce this film. I only trusted Rajeev merely because his earlier Punjabi film proved to be successful at the box-office.”

When it comes to his mother, Kapil has a lot to talk about. “My mother is very innocent. She does not understand the changed world of today. Yes she is very happy I am engaged. You never know I may change [laughs]. I think getting married is also essential. When I go back home and find myself all alone then I get into a depressive mood. Thus having a life partner I fell is essential,” he revealed.

Speaking of his international ambitions, Kapil said, “Yes! I am in talks with an international company. We have just spoken on telephone. I will be going to meet them soon. It is a chat show based on the lines of Big Mama/Henry. I will also be joining New York School of filmmaking as I would like to enrich my knowledge on the art of film making.”
